Udstillingen MAD MAD MAD præsenterer barokmaleri og helt ny dansk samtidskunst. Udstillingen kredser om mad – mad i overflod, om guilty pleasures, madens sanselige fryd, dekadente, luksuriøse måltider, der får mundvandet til at løbe, men også om deres vrangsider. Her indstiller vi med andre ord blikket på en privilegeret verdens madkultur set gennem kunsten med barokken som historisk spejl.

Kunsten har på tværs af historien sat måltider i scene og kastet lys over madens betydning som andet og mere end det brændstof, der holder vores biologiske kroppe i gang. I udstillingen møder vi maden som fx symbol, identitetsmarkør, handelsvare og udtryk for placering på samfundets rangstige. Vi oplever kunstværker, der lægger op til at se på mad og måltidskultur med et fornyet blik.

Sammen med udstillingen udgiver Gl. Holtegaard et katalog i både tekst og billeder. Publikationen indeholder tekster af Gl. Holtegaards direktør, Maria Gadegaard, og kurator Marie Oxholm Zigler. Kataloget er designet af Spine Studio og udkom i september.
